In the year since the first King’s Speech of this Government, landmark legislation is already delivering real, visible change for workers, renters, commuters, steelworkers, football fans, and families across the country. The Labour Government’s Plan for Change is resetting the priorities of government shifting power and opportunity to working people.
Since July last year, a new Bill has been introduced every four sitting days, showing the Government’s drive to deliver on its promises and rebuild Britain from the ground up after 14 years of Conservative decline.
Leader of the House of Commons, Lucy Powell, said: “The story of the Government can be seen through the new laws and rights we have brought in. We are an active, insurgent government, taking on vested interests and putting working people first.
From bringing rail services into public ownership to strengthening water regulations and reforming workers’ rights, we are standing up for the public, against the powerful.
The country is crying out for a renewed Britain, and this Government is delivering it through the Plan for Change.”
Amanda Martin MP added: “This Government is showing what real change looks like—jobs saved, renters finally getting security, passengers seeing failing rail services brought back under public control, jobs created in Portsmouth and the Dockyard’s future secured. These aren’t just policies—they’re proof of a government that works for working people.”
Here’s how the government is delivering for the Country

“This is just the start, there is lots more to do and as you can see from the above we’re getting on with the job we were elected to do.”
